Mm, that sounds good with the hazelnut meal. Will have to try that. I always make mine with nice big chunks of choc - you defo want to bite into a big bits.

These are the best brownies in the world, and so easy to make too! I've made a few variations... white choc and macadamia, replacing some of the flour with hazelnut meal and throwing some roughly chopped hazelnuts in too. I recommend that you chop the choc into bigger rather than smaller chunks to give that ultra-choc indulgence you want in a brownie.
Stephanie's (we are on a first name basis these days) banana cake recipe is also the best I've come across, although you can reduce the sugar by at least 1/3 if not 1/2.

I'm never sure how the copyright thing works in these instances. If it's an old recipe that's been doing the rounds, fine, and if it's from a newspaper (with a site), hunky dory - but what about if it's from a book? Assuming it's ok to quote recipes from books if you give the source... here it is!

180g butter, melted
¾ cup / 80g cocoa
1 ½ cups / 320g caster sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
4 eggs, lightly beaten
100g plain flour, sifted
¾ teaspoon baking powder
120g dark choc, chopped
Pinch of salt

Oven at 160C.

Melt butter and mix with cocoa in a large bowl.
Add all the other ingredients.

Bake 20-25 minutes.
