It's a bit weird - because of the banana I think. IMHO a banana cake should declare itself as a banana cake (or a banana and white choc cake - as we all know that's a perfect combo!). But this is a moist walnutty cake that also happens to taste a bit of banana. If I made it again, I'd be tempted to play around with the quantities and remove the banana. It looks fab though - a cross-section is gorgeous, with the red of the beet and the faint green of the walnuts. (Which doesn't really come across in my pic / on my monitor.)
